They have some interesting roles open. How's the WLB there ? General culture ? TC 88k
Lol I'm at Wayfair. All we've got are tech bros
Going to do my best to answer for all of engineering. Wlb is what you make it. There are certainly people who work long hours and are "always on", but there are also plenty of people who work pretty much 9 to 5 with plenty of breaks and work from home mixed in as well. The one universal thing at dk that does detract from Wlb is on call. You're almost certainly expected to be on call for your team, but what that means is sort of luck by team. During nfl season you're probably going to end up having to work an entire Sunday two or three times, but can take a day off during the week as a "comp day". They have an "unlimited" vacation policy which I personally don't like, but my manager has been pretty good about encouraging me to take time off so far. The only "bro" aspect of the company that I've really noticed to date is that the majority of engineering is men in their 20s and 30s, though I imagine you're going to find that in most tech companies, though working with sports makes it a little worse. There's certainly not a single culture even across engineering. People tend to be pretty results oriented, and the company as a whole is pretty analytical.
That's really helpful. Thank you ! Does someone have to know a lot about sports to work there ?
Definitely don't need to know a lot about sports in engineering. Elsewhere that's considered a big plus. In some parts of engineering it definitely helps a little
Do you like tech bros?
