I recently resigned from Amazon with 12/30 being my final day. According to California law, I should’ve received my final paycheck that day if I gave “at least” 72 hours advance notice. Apparently they have to continue to pay my daily wage for every calendar day I do not receive my paycheck after the final day of employment. Please correct me if I am wrong. My three questions are 1.) Does that include holidays? I assume so? 2.) Will Amazon automatically pay the penalty or will I need to call the ERC hotline and request it? 3.) Does anyone know if this will be taxed as a bonus or regular hours? It amazes me that Amazon can be so negligent with final paycheck yet my access, exit interviews, etc were completed as scheduled. Seems like a complete waste of money but I’ll take it.
