Databricks sse - 450k per year ( 200k + 15% bonus + stocks) Microsoft sse (l64) - 400k per year ( 180k + 15% bonus + stocks + 60k joining for 2 years) LinkedIn sse - 410k per year ( 190k + 10% bonus + stocks + 60k joining for 2 years) I am ok to work 8-9 hours per day. I have baby of 1 year old and don’t want to compromise time with baby. My first instinct is to go with microsoft since don’t want to compromise on WLB. Although i am fine to work for 40-45 hours per week. On other hand, I feel I should join databricks, work in databricks should be much more interesting. 40-45 hours enough to survive and thrive in databricks? Current CTC - 330 E5 #microsoft #meta #databricks #linkedin
Go where you have the best opportunity
Blind is a horrible place to ask for advice when you are married or have kids. Kids here will only vote for highest TC anyway.
Thats true. Here i want to optimise for both good work and wld. If i have to choose one then it should be wlb
WLB and quality of work are all team and manager dependent, not uniform within any company. Pick the manager who liked you the most, rest everything will fall in line.
The offers are very much in a similar range. How did you like the managers, team, actual work on the team? You won't go wrong with any of the choices above. Tough decision.
How did you manage to get a call from LinkedIn , was it through referral, have been trying for sometime now
Wow! Microsoft 400K for L64!! Take it!!
It’s because of the competing offers. No competing offers - standard offer.
Don't join msft. You will avoid lot of problems
How come your tc is less than 400k as an e5? I also vote for msft. Best wlb
Joined at seattle at 450 including joining ( 70k ) bonus when price was 360
something is not right. META@360 was 2 years back. with a low E5 base of 200k, 125k per year joining stock, 15% bonus + 2 years of refreshers, you must be much closer to 400k. So….
I heard LinkedIn culture has changed drastically and they have pip quota and wlb isn't what it used to be FYI
Can confirm this. 👍
Can also confirm this
Don’t join the likes of databricks if you’re seeking WLB + if you’d want some baby bonding time
How is the wlb in snowflake? Able to manage work with 7-8 hour per day ? I guess databricks wlb would be similar to snowflake
Yeah I’d say it’s more or less the same ballpark but since Databricks hasn’t IPO’d yet there may be more pressure to deliver. I manage to work a little less than 40hrs/wk, and my ratings have been EE consistently. WLB depends on the team
LinkedIn should be a good compromise between meta and MSFT
Only problem with LinkedIn is level. They are giving sse which maps to sde2 ? Although salary is top notch.
A similar TC with less responsibilities and more room to grow is a much better deal though
