Got my background check from hireright today. It couldnt completely verify my start date as I started in a foreign country in Google and marked it as discrepancy. Its marked as Client verification required. What will happen next? will Meta need additional documents from me or will my offer be cancelled? Really worries about this. Has this happened to anyone before? Also how long does meta take after hireright sends background check report? YOE: 4 TC: 250k (current)/ 330k (@meta)
I had something weird like this happen with HireRight and employment in a foreign country (mine was for an internship). Employer didn't care and I started on the predetermined date. If you aren't outwardly hiding something, should be okay
Meta background search team will reach out for you to submit proof if they care. Iām surprised HireRight didnāt reach out to you first. Get your paperwork/internship verification from Google asap and reach out to your recruiter regarding this discrepancy so you can have them send a note on your behalf. Meta might not care but stay ahead of it. Your pre-hire checklist for the background check will turn green 1-2 days after the report is delivered to Meta if thereās no issue / they donāt care. Otherwise they will be reaching out. They wonāt rescind an offer unless itās outright fraud with experience reporting or you have a serious criminal background.
Background check is usually pretty fast unless thereās a glaring red flag. There was a discrepancy in mine too, but theyāll just ask you for more documentation, references, etc. If itās still a red flag after you submit documentation, Iād call to clarify. Depending on your role and the flag, they may rescind their offer, but I wouldnāt start freaking out right now. It doesnāt sound like your issue would be ground to rescind the offer.
You can't be the first person Meta has hired who previously worked in another country. It will be fine.
It is trivial to get a PDF from Workday thar shows the necessary details for your current employment at Google. Why are you making them validate as part of the background check when you can prove this yourself?
They will rescind the offer
Just kidding. Everything will be fine.
