Microsoft L65 Offer Redmond
Hi everyone. Need input on my L65 Principle SWE offer from Microsoft. Base: 195k Sign on: 45k split over 2 years RSU: 145k over 4 years Recruiter says my annual bonus is up to 30% of my base. Yoe: 13
Isn’t annual bonus on performance based? So it’s more like 10%

Is L65 equivalent to L7 (principal) at Amazon? I can't believe a principal engineer gets paid like this
Nope L7 is definitely not equivalent to L65. L7 maps to a wide range but usually L67
Comp wise l65 maps to l4

For context recruiter said this is top of band
You will be doing a lot of work for peanuts. Bonus is not guaranteed, don't rely on it. Negotiate hard.
Is this for real?
First of all it's principal. Secondly, this is not worth it for the work you are expected to do. Do us all a favor by not even being willing to negotiate & thank for wasting your time.
Why not 1) negotiating for at least +20% 2) taking it and switching to Principal position in another company after 6 months with 50% raise?
