I plan to join MS in a business role on H1B visa. I have been told that my case is under legal review. My request has been more than 11 days since the status is on legal review. And still there has been no case created on MS immigration portal. This is a bit unnerving. After following up with immigration team , my request have been sent to "askusi" team. Need some guidance on the following questions. - Is this wait normal? If so, what exactly askusi does team focus on during legal review? - How much times does Microsoft's immigration team take to conduct legal review? Thanks for the help. #workvisa #h1btransfer #h1b
Your case may not meet the cut as business roles are normally not qualified
Could you please elaborate on the criteria required to meet the "cut"? Additionally, would you know what "askusi" team looks for before granting approval?
Mine says "Filing" on immigration portal for last 2 weeks but there is no update yet.
How much time did they take to initiate your case? In my situation, it has been three weeks since uploading documents and no case has been created on immigration portal.
I believe they did not update on immigration portal for you. They emailed me to upload paystubs and I checked immigration portal and my case was there already
I have been regularly following up with visahire. There response has been that my case is under legal review. They have also looped in askusi team, which I believe needs some inputs from my HM. Not sure if askusi team was looped in for your case too.
OP/others any updates? What happened finally?

What business role? Is it so unique that a permanent resident or citizen cannot be found to fill the position? Microsoft is probably making sure your H1B transfer is not turned down by USCIS and/or they are backlogged. My partner was a manager at MS for 15 years and thought the immigration team was efficient.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. I totally understand your line of questioning on uniqueness of my skill-set for the role. I wish I had a good answer for that. Appreciate your response though.
