according to their prep pdf, they say to practice mediums/hards and be able to solve them in less than 15 minutes. if i have done the problem before, then this is no problem. but without knowing the problem, a medium could take longer IMO. a hard definitely. how accurate is their prep? do they really ask 2 mediums in 35 min and expect to solve it? tc: 154k #leetcode #interview
Should be 45 minutes, not 35. And yes, 2 medium/hard problems per interview is what I saw. But I'm 15+ yoe and was targeting E5/E6.
Yes 2 mediums are the norm. Interview is 45min, coding will be 35-40min depending on how long intro/q&a take. If you have seen the question before, you should only take 5-10min...
Can you please share their prep doc
https://www.facebook.com/careers/swe-prep-techscreen PDF download in there somewhere
Do Facebook interviewers expect you to tell them that you’ve seen the problem before? There’s no way someone could solve two medium LCs in 35min without having seen at least a similar problem before lol
I think you can solve it if you have seen something similar before, the exact question will be like 10 minutes each
I can direct you to a number of YouTube channels of competitive programmers that will prove you otherwise. Check out Errichto on YT. He has pretty much every problem solved in his head right as he’s finished reading it and codes the solution in 2-10 minutes every time, without bugs. He’s doing the April leetcode 30 day challenge right now and the longest he’s taken to solve a problem is 8 minutes. He has won Google Code Jams and has been a competitive programmer for years. He’s seen and studied every pattern. People like him are out there and that’s what you’re up against.
Wtf where is the world heading with these expectations
At this point it just feels like a hazing exercise. So many people are plundering these tech companies. Cost of entry into the plunder-fest is 300 leetcode problems. Building useful products at your last job means absolutely nothing anymore.
^ This is so true.
Does any one have a vaccine for FB interview ?
😂
RIP
Not only that, it has to be precise wrt data structures you use I used array list instead instead of fixed array and got rejected I thought trimming arraylist whenever the elements were not needed would free up the space during gc, but no i was rejected for that
And once you get an offer you will be asked to change the padding on a button. 😂
I am collecting FB phone interviews on iq.interviewhelp.io , if you can add what questions you got that will be an awesome reference and then we can see data to figure out the bar .
does it share the results
Yes it does !
I got two mediums in each of the coding rounds, no hards.
Level?
