Just saw someone mentioned on Youtube, that US treasury bond will allow some random guys like me to earn 4-5% every month or every 3 months. I'm wondering what's the catch? Where's the most reliable place to buy the US treasury bond? IB or Etrade?
Have you heard about $GME?
4-5% every month would be like 80% APY.
Just open a high yield savings account instead, Wealthfront, Marcus by Goldman Sachs offer 5% APY with referral. FDIC insured, no fees, no minimums.
I was referring to monthly, 3 or 6 months for 5%, is that risk free if not what's the risk for investing in US Treasury bond?
In Treasury bond, your money is locked for the duration and interest rate is fixed for that duration. In HYSA you can remove your money anytime, deposit anytime and the interest rate is dynamic. If FED increases the rate, HYSA will immediately increase their interest rate. You can get 5.05% APY with Wealthfront (3 months with referral ) ,4.55 after that. Upto 2.5 million is insured by FDIC. Let me know if you need referral for Wealthfront. Once you open the account, you can refer someone and you will get additional 0.5% bump in APY
Sounds too scary, i guess i won't invest in US treasury bonds, the Youtuber told us like there's no risk, luckily i asked, thanks for sharing!
