Intuit vs staying at Goldman

I just got an offer from Intuit, and it's lower than my current TC at Goldman. They have good benefits and I can WFH 3 days a week (vs fully in-office for GS). TC hasn't changed in GS for two years and my team kinda sucks. Should I stay or should I go? I'm trying to improve the offer, but not sure if it'll work. People who voted either way, I would love to hear your feedback on the choice! EDIT: Base: 180k Sign on bonus: 10k + 10k for next year Equity: 33k Bonus: 15% TC: 250k for the first year

Role , location?

It's in the poll. Senior SWE at Intuit in NYC vs Vice President (aka Senior SWE) at Goldman in Jersey City

If you have competing offers they can bump , which team are you joining?

Goldman Sachs antolar OP May 15

I may get another offer by the end of this week or early next week. I'm joining QuickBooks, not sure the name of the team but it's based between Bay Area and Canada, and expanding to NYC

Intuit strssseddd May 15

While the base salary is standard, the equity component usually exceeds $100,000, making the total compensation package more substantial

Goldman Sachs antolar OP May 15

Equity package is $130k for new joiners, but vested in 4 years. I put the first year only there

In my case they increased the offer after I negotiated. My GS PATC was 260k but for the last 2 years it did not even cross 220. If the same is applicable to you Intuit is the better choice.

Thanks, can I DM you for more details?

Intuit all the way. Goldman is only worthwhile if paying 30%+ premium. Also don’t trust the GS retaining bonus if they give you one, because that only materialize for one year, then after that it’s zero bonus and pushing you out. And congratulations on getting outta of this shithole ! 🎉

Is intuit giving joining bonus?

Goldman Sachs antolar OP May 15

Currently in negotiations. Probably they'll add something, but haven't heard back from them

Intuit is probably the better choice. I hate turbotax so much that I'm still going to say don't do it.

What is your YOE? Also I heard that GS stopped caring about enforcing badging in the office?

Goldman Sachs antolar OP May 15

8 YOE. At least my team its still pretty hard on the badging in the office...
