World Financial Group FFIUL - who has this life insurance policy?

I heard of WFG in the past and how people consider them a scam. I was approached by one of their associates who was trying to sell me an index universal life insurance policy called FFIUL from Transamerica (been operating 100+ years). Long story short, I didn’t let myself get suckered into this policy which few things didn’t add up. The salesperson kept insisting your “investment” in the cash value portion of the insurance will have a cap at 15% and you’ll never lose principal. What it means is on a very good year of market gains, your earnings max at 15% or less and bear market you don’t lose principal. In addition, they keep saying this investment is a good way to protect yourself from tax liabilities and you should not put money in your 401k but just use it to pay for the IUL premiums where a portion goes to investment for your cash value for which you can withdraw later when you need the money to pay for your kids college or any big expense “tax free”. To all of you, if anyone here has this active policy... how is it? Beneficial? Useful? Any hidden fees or charges?

Lol, don’t.

The commission and operational overhead comes from your profit. Run the numbers against term life insurance and investing the difference in a diversified portfolio. Your return will be better without their overhead.

I thought so too. I heard the salesperson gets a big chunk of your first year premium as their commission. Plus lots of people who have this sort of policy lapsed prematurely years ago.
