Location - Bellevue Base - 160K Signon Year 1 - 62K Year 2 - 46K RSU - 726 units vesting over 4 years (5%,15%,40%,40%) TC for year 1 ~ 228K Total work ex - 6 years Current TC - 143K How is this offer for a L6 BIE? I might have other competing offer this week. Will there be any room for negotiations? Recruiter told this is the max they can go, anything more than this needs a VP approval. Is it worth pushing it to 250 ish range?
Congrats! cracking L6 BIE at 6 years work experience, look pretty good. The offer actually is good for this work ex. but I've seen posts in Blind where the range was like 260k, so maybe uve room to negotiate. Any case, WA doesn't have tax, so that's better too. What was ur interview like? How was the tech part?
Thank you! I had a 1hr technical screening interview followed by the loop consisting of 4 interviews. Surprisingly, most of the interviews were LP based. Only 1 interview was technical focused on SQL, AB testing!
Cool gotcha
It’s a pretty good offer. I think max they might remove stocks and offer cash comp but that’s it.
What was your current base and bonus
Base is a bit less than 130K + 7% Bonus + 8% 401K (Discover matches 5% and adds 3% at the year end irrespective of your contribution)
I accepted the offer recently. Tried to negotiate for 20k more but the recruiter told it would need VP and SVP approval which took over a week with no decision and recruiter was not sure if it will get approve or decline and how much more time will it take to get the decision so I just accepted the offer after waiting for a week and half as I didn't want to delay it more!
Congrats OP! Welcome, there is good and bad here so take what’s good and ignore too much negativity.
Thank you! :)
First, your TC would increase 58%. Second, the offered TC of $226K is at 43% penetration within the L6 TC band of $199.3K to $261.8K. That's the L6 BIE TC band I've seen here on Blind so I can't confirm it's 100% accurate. If you want 50% penetration you can ask for $5K more. It's hard to say because I don't know your pay conversations with HR. I'd say push for the $5K extra but if they truly do require VP approval (I highly doubt that's true) then just accept and congratulations!
Use of 'penetration' is very interesting
Thank you for the reply! My guess is they are not offering the same comp as they used to in 2022 2023. I am waiting for another offer to come after which I might negotiate! Let's see how it goes! Thank you for the insights though!
