Hey everyone, Asking for my wife. She works in Analog Design Engineering at NXP (Current TC $165k) in phoenix, and has an offer from Maxim (Offer TC $181k). She has about 6.5 years of experience. The bump is only about 10% so she’s contemplating if thats enough to join? It would be great to know if this is close to the ceiling in phoenix or there are opportunities/companies that can be paying more. Are these numbers fair for 6.5 yoe in phoenix? #Semiconductor #maximintegrated #phoenix
Thanks guys! @Analog Devices : One speculation is that Maxim may have paycuts after the merger goes through. Do you know if that happened with LTC merger or could happen here?
No, if anything your wife will likely see a pay increase after the merger completes. I was legacy LTC, ended up getting ~%15 base raise. In the long run she’ll start getting less and less RSU’s though. That’s the negative with ADI. Also the remote sites such as Pheonix can always be shut down if there’s overlap. Which business unit will your wife be working in at Maxim?
What's the break down?
Congratulations!! less than 7 years of experience I believe this is a dream package knowing how much low Maxim pays in Arizona. Could you care to post the breakdown?
What role is this? SMTS? This is 80%ile pay for SMTS. Phoenix office will be fine after the merger. It’s better to join Maxim rather than stay at NXP. For the next two years at least, you will not have layoffs otherwise all your RSUs vest as severence which is not a bad deal
Maxim is currently in process of getting acquired by analog devices. They are based in Boston, dynamics can change. IMO 10% is not worth it.
Agreed.
