I have an offer that the recruiter is pushing me to sign. It is a decent offer, and I can see myself working there for a year or so - but not ideal. I am also in the process of a few other companies which I am more interested in. Is it okay to just accept via Docusign and renege on the offer later? Would there be any negative repercussions? This is for India, for a Software Engineering position.
Yes.
Better tell the truth and not accept offer to avoid being blocked in future or burn bridges. No show or renege is considered unethical and liable to be blacklisted
Right. That'd be my approach in the past too. But lately so many companies are laying off and reneging, I wonder if employees should also be able to?
I believe there are some companies that will never offer in future if you cut the interview process short and go with another company. You don’t even have to get as far as an offer letter
If you are fine with burning the bridges and not looking to join there in future then go ahead and sign it, you can say no later and they might blacklist you max
Always helps in saying the truth. It will increase your value and also may get good offer on hearing about multiple options.
Got it, thanks. I think I'll accept. The other offers I may or may-not receive. I'll review those if and when they happen I guess.
If you see your loops finishing within a reasonable time, you can ask recruiter a later joining date. If you get better offer, you can told them no before joining. However, you must be willing to let go of this offer if recruiter says no
Joining dates we have agreed upon for a satisfactory date so that my other interviews finish enough time. But they are asking me to accept the offer right now.
