Does anyone knows the work culture in Personal Invest (PI) BU software engineers? TC: 130k$ YOE: 4yrs
Mostly Indian engineers here
How’s is the work life balance?
I refuse to work more than 40. My boss isn’t happy about it, so I’m on PIP. The compensation here is typical for a financial services company, so it’s not great. Average performer and on PIP, so clearly there is not much job security either. Lots of cons and few pros. Especially for new employees because of the long vesting for the good benefits. I’d stay away if you have a better offer or just stay where you are till the market improves. Otherwise, join (so you’ll have a paycheck and insurance) and keep looking.
Overall PI culture is still a little Gordon Gecko Wall Street if you are dealing with male higher ups. Very demanding, order people around, not respectful.
There's a lot of reorganization going on now. So your BU will change
Reorg always have some impact, do you suspect any layoff later on?
I don't think so. This has more to do with the fact that the PI BU was bloated.
