Entry Level SWE YOE - 0 Raytheon Technologies - 90k TC Location - Greater Boston Area Boeing - 85k TC Location - Greater Philadephia Area Especially during this COVID situation, considering factors like growth, stability, what's my best option here?
Boeing is resume cancer right now. Go for Raytheon
Is it really?
They had two commercial airliners go down due to their incompetence. Obviously it’s not so bad from WITHIN the defense industry because there are only a handful of players and they’re a major one. From outside the defense industry, Boeing’s name is tarnished.
Go to Raytheon in Massachusetts. Always found folks there happier than folks at Boeing.
Thanks
Anytime and congrats
Raytheon
No don’t do it.... it’s not worth it. If you do... then remember this comment in about a year. They are all the same
Why not worth it?
Unless you are in Aerospace engineering.. then maybe some value. For SWE it’s horrible Otherwise poor TC and growth. You will work with outdated systems and receive pushback from older people content with not improving anything. I have friends from all top defense companies (except Booz Allen). They all share same feeling, most have left or are actively trying to.
Is ur Raytheon division bbn?
Collins Aerospace
Neither, but I'd pick anyone but boeing
Take Raytheon for 1-2 years (til Covid is over) if that’s your best offer. Job security is solid with the defense industry...can leave later if you want
Thanks !!
Raytheon
Location? Honestly, get your masters degree on the company dime and GTFO to tech.
For sure will do, updated locations
That might be hard to do. Coming from the UTC/RTX side, they changed their Education Assistance Program last year so that you’re locked in to work for them for 2 years AFTER YOU FINISH your degree. Or pay back tuition. Just keep your timeline in mind
