In Bay Area, south San Jose. ( Blossom hill) Most of the houses here have 75%-99% flood risk in 30 years. Is it a good idea to buy these houses? Edit: FEMA Zone D Does flood insurance help? Edit: Lender doesnot need flood insurance Just got a insurance quote for this home per year Home Insurance: $1645 Flood Insurance: $490
Nooo
Prolly need earthquake insurance too
Earthquake insurance is a scam
scam 100%
Some people are really damaged by the climate change narrative.
You used the right word - narrative. Insurance companies love these narratives đ
Crazy, right? I have a buddy who is the CTO of a company who was hired by the insurance companies that do re-insurance. You know, the folks who insure Geico, State Farm. See their weather models are grossly inaccurate and weather is changing at a far greater pace and they need my buddies company, whoâs doing some cutting edge blah blah to build them new models. Quite interesting. The earth will be fine but the people are fucked as George Carlin used to say
South San Jose has flood prone areas? Which area is that?
Coyote creek and others
It's a hot potato game. Buy and sell off to some one before 30 years. Let's see who is the naked one when the tide recedes
They also see the same risk and wonât they have the same questions in 15years if I want to sell and low ball me?
Lol it's not like it's 0% flood risk and then suddenly 99% in 30 years. It's a 99% chance it will happen sometime in the next 30 years. Could be tomorrow.
Search for some San Jose flooding videos from that dam near Gilroy
itâs not a static 30 years you tards. like 29 years from now there will be 1 year left. itâs meant to express the likelihood of it flooding during your likely length of ownership. if the model they are using proves out, in one year the next 30 year risk will continue to risk. looks from the graph this will be a 10 in 10 years. but you wonât know if true for 10 years. theyâll adjust the model every year or so. pass on flood risk homes. bay area expensive enough without such risks. also avoid liquefaction zone
Too much leetcode, zero statistics⌠lol
I was reading so many of these comments facepalming over this
and no, flood insurance doesnât help. it wonât prevent the flooding
And from Florida we can see that you might loose your insurance with your good options to replace that insurance when that happens. Insurance doesnât sign up to cover your house until you decide to sell. They only sign up for one year at a time.
Haha this is literally going under water
