#Furloughs announced yesterday for all divisions all over the US in April and May. Other geographies will do it in accordance with their local laws and regulations (last year they did have our teams in India and China take voluntary unpaid vacations too) Meanwhile weâre ramping up production for masks and other medical supplies and components for ventilators and hospitals. Saving lives at least for #covid
Doesnât Honeywell also do some defense contracts? Surely those are not furloughed
Honeywell furloughs people even when they donât need to. They are kind of a terrible company to work for in that way. Just read the glassdoor reviews
Horrific. Sorry to hear this has happened.
that sucks
Yep Way weâre being told is to be grateful itâs this and not straight up lay offs :)
Iâm not sure I understand. So everyone in NA will be on unpaid leave?! Howâs that even possible?
I am going to run away as soon as market recovers
Why? Issues with culture etc or just you want a change?
Culture and I just feel like a number. No one really wants to improve technology and its always about saving $$
Can confirm Weâre told that theyâre trying to call this âunpaid leaveâ instead of furlough. Why would they say this? What benefit is it to the company.
Unpaid Leave sounds classier? Furlough sounds stuffy and super DC gov contractor-y? Maybe theyâre really trying to pivot our brand and sound cool yo hey there #FutureShaper đ But lol I havenât heard this. I do know if you sign on the severance paper work in case of a lay-off you canât say anything negative at all ever đ
Does this include jobs at Resideo?
I donât know but my guess is the Honeywell furlough does not affect residio because Residio is legally another company
Honeywell is well known for these, unfortunately.
Oh totally. Second one in a couple of months for my division. Just posting here too in case anyone has standing offers theyâd like to rethink.
So do you get paid later for these unpaid leave?
