Now and again hear that every company these days is a tech company. Some are more than others. Recently stumbled across this gem: Chick-Fil-A uses kubernetes for their restaurants to live forecast demand https://medium.com/@cfatechblog/edge-computing-at-chick-fil-a-7d67242675e2 Other cool unexpected stuff out there?
Chil Fil A is amazing
People at top tier companies need to get their head out of their ass and realize that they're not the only ones doing cool stuff...my biggest learnings were when I was working with a small no-name startup
No one disputes startups innovating. Difference is that they can't afford to innovate on a lot of different stuff like the bigger well funded companies. R&D needs manpower and a budget

Tech is a tool. This like getting surprised that a company has electrified or industrialized.
https://tech.target.com/2018/08/08/running-cassandra-in-kubernetes-across-1800-stores.html I guess Target is more of a tech company than Chick Fil A but this was also unexpected.
Didn't Target also have an ML algo or something that predicted people were pregnant before they knew themselves?
They started sending pregnancy related ads to the family of a teenage girl that got pregnant. The father got mad at the suggestive stuff in the mail and called Target to complain, but then called them back later to apologize when he found out his daughter was actually pregnant. Lol
