What usually happens to unvested RSU when layoff?

If you are close to your vesting date, they may be part of severance. Otherwise they go to a farm upstate where they live happily ever after with their families.
They get laid off with you and both of you go to a laid off party together.
Some places vested in early 2023 layoffs, nowadays don't expect it
same as when you quit. unvested just goes away why in the world would you think they vest
I think I have seen some places vest as part of severance. Just curious to see how common is it
