I've received SWE offers from both. I already accepted CitSec but unsure if JS trumps it (I'd need to renege CitSec to accept JS). I got Low Latency QD team for citsec but JS is general; I've heard LL is good at citsec (wlb / comp / career growth) but typically JS > CitSec so I'm a bit unsure. Hoping to hear any thoughts from people with a bit more knowledge/experience! Please comment if possible (rather than poll)! #citadel #citadelsecurities #citsec #JS #janestreet #janestreetcapital
Based on the team, go to CitSec. You’ll gain skills that are much more valued in this industry than being a general SWE at JS. You’ll get new grad SWE interviews at almost all the firms. You’ll also pick up skills that’ll prep you for rounds, for low latency/core dev positions at HRT, Jump, Headlands, Radix.
Jane street 100%
Explain your 100%
Bro what's tc on offer? Curious to see how much poorer I am
Goddamn
From my view I'd rather take JS, citadel is a cool place but from what I have heard JS is just an overall better place to work
Jane Street would be my pick, due to prestige and growth opportunities. Citadel is alright, but I’ve heard bad things about their WLB. I’m not sure about the likelihood of return offers though. TC: 90K, not intelligent enough to break into hedge funds
Renege citadel and they will still call you next year
Lol @ people thinking some random team at js potentially doing internal tooling or sdlc is better career wise than a core highly valued team at citsec because of pResTiGE
for an internship just do both, js lets you push an internship off to the fall term
sounds right, i knew someone that interned at js in the summer and then citadel in the fall
this isn't necessarily true to push, usually the team has you interview for a specific internship cycle
Man, low latency has some of the best people I know. Stop reading comments from people who’re not even in trading
Exactly!
Congrats. Would not be a close decision for me, I’d take Jane street
