#tech I posted a while back about my experience being robbed twice in SF in 5 years (one time of which the guy put a gun straight to my head). I talked about how recent tragic news made me think about my experiences...and how blessed I am to still be alive. I shared the news article and also the gofundme of the kid who was recently murdered in SF. His dream was to be a future tech nerd like us and give his working class immigrant parents a better life. And incredibly donations poured in. I don't know how much of it was from you the Blind community, but I'm guessing a lot because the gofundme was stalled for awhile and then suddenly picked up thousands of dollars right after I posted. I know we talk a lot about TC and FIRE and our dream of getting out of the 9 to 5 with oir boatload of money. But it's just awesome to know this community's members, ultimately, are basically awesome humans who also care, period. Thanks again all. https://www.gofundme.com/f/kelvin-chew-memorial-fundraiser

All her sacrifices, her hopes, and dreams for a better life for her son and to make it in America have been destroyed. America is no longer a land of opportunity, but a land of high-crime and shattered dreams, aka “Woketopia.”
