What’s up with Indians and the word “Kindly”?
Just curious if anyone is using Alteryx and Tableau together in their role. If so, what company? I am certified in both, and using neither! I know SQL can replace a lot of what Alteryx provides, but I am just curious. P.S. If anyone is using Thoughtspot I’d love to hear about that too. #data #dataanalytics #software
I hope I never have to use alteryx again. We use a lot of looker at square, it’s alright.
You prefer Tableau Prep, Knime, neither?
Tableau Prep is hot garbage. Alteryx has a lot of problems but it's still leagues ahead.
We used Tableau alot. And used to use Alteryx for data preparation but as the company grew our demand for ETL grew too so right now switching to Informatica cloud (IICS) which is the worst ETL I have ever seen as compared to Alteryx
That’s a bummer. Not familiar with IICS but I appreciate the GUI approach and the ability automate things in Alteryx as a non-SWE/data engineer guy.
Thoughtspot is bought but never used.. shelfware
Software tools(alteryx) are often replaced every 5 to 10 years. Please focus on programming skills as you’re going to find yourself not getting paid well and upset by the limitations of the software.
Great advice! I’m doing DAX in SSAS and Oracle SQL for the most part now.
Dax is not a transferrable skill - I don’t think Just use python or r
We do heavily. And should see an opening for BI Analyst soon.
