Hey yall, I'm new to blind and I signed up just to ask this. I'm a uni student who's graduating next semester and I have already accepted my I5 SE offer for Dell's ITDP. One of my friends just got his SE offer rescinded from Dell but he's not a part of that program, does anyone inside Dell know if Dell is going to start rescinding offers from the ITDP? Should I continue applying to other companies just to stay safe? #Dell #layoffs #rescindingoffers
Maybe. I heard there are planned layoffs. Maybe one of their actions might be cutting down some programs.
Reach out to the recruiter and the hiring manager right away and confirm all is good
ITDP budget is different from a team's labor budget so within the context of the ITDP program you should be safe. My advice however, is get at much as you can (that'll directly help with your career goals), then leave for greener, more rewarding pastures, once the program is over. Do NOT make the mistake of staying, unless that opportunity is that good (which is never).
Mind share detail of the rescinded offer?
We are freezing external hires and internal transfers, so in general budgets are tight, so it would not be a bad idea to cover you basis by applying for other companies just to be safe. In all of the HR communication I see, if an offer is already extended and accepted we still hire. This is actually the first I’ve heard of Dell rescinding an offer. I’m in CPG engineering in Texas. Do you have more details about the rescinded offer? Which org, what job family, comp breakdown?
Rescinding != Resending
Haha thanks just fixed it
