Is cracking interview getting harder and is it like the competition is not going to come down Will the standard always remain same?
The bar is indeed going š
The number of jobs with 6 figure salaries are going down and the number of people who want them is going higher much faster. Interviewers have no other option.
I disagree. A good experienced interviewer can gauge a good candidate on many other signals rather than asking 2 LC Hards in 45 mins.
Okay, help me understand then. Our 1 job posting gets 10000+ applicants in 1 day (entry level). At least 30% of applicants are VERY good at Leetcode, and can easily do LC mediums. This number has gone higher ime in this job market. That leaves at least 3000 qualified applicants in a day. Since they're entry level, we can't expect them to know system design, so can't sift via that. What's the interview style you'd use to narrow down 3000 qualified applicants down to 1?
Getting harder lol itās been the hardest itās been in a long time when mass layoffs started in Jan 2023.
Definitely hardest job market Iāve seen in 20+ years. To get noticed and to get through screening.
Will it get any easy? Any time?
Thereās no way to know but I think it would require this to flip back to an employeeās market. Employers definitely have the upper hand now and that may persist for years. Donāt give up though. It will just take more time, rejection and effort than before.
I can confirm it's way harder than it was 2 years ago. I was able to crack all the interviews I gave back then and recently interviewed with 3 top tech companies and failed the first round not because I couldn't solve the questions but because the expectations were too high
Also the interviewers were kids
