Hi everyone I’m an L4 at Amazon with 2YOE: Recently, despite delivering a significant project on a tight deadline, I found myself under scrutiny without any acknowledgment. Upon returning from vacation, my manager informed me of being put on focus due to trivial reasons, specifically for not addressing a question from last year's discussion. He assured me of support, including weekly meetings and coaching, but has failed to follow through for the past three weeks. Moreover, I've been assigned to a new project with another tight deadline, adding to my already high-pressure workload. The stress from work, combined with personal issues, has exacerbated my anxiety and depression. I've sought therapy and medication to cope. Initially, I planned to leave Amazon after being placed on a performance improvement plan (PIP) to receive severance. However, due to escalating stress and anxiety, I've applied for a leave of absence through the DLS MyHR portal. 1. Should I inform my manager about taking FMLA leave? I have an upcoming MCM next week . Also, I'm concerned about participating in stand-ups and sprint meetings, then suddenly being absent the next day. 2. Is DLS the same system as the one in Amazon's AtoZ portal through MyHR? 3. What's the process after submitting a request on DLS? Will they respond within two days? If not, can I simply stop going to the office starting from the requested date? 4. What's the difference between applying on DLS and applying for FMLA? And how can I apply for paid FMLA after that? 5. What's the procedure if I want to renew my FMLA after 2.5 months? 6. What happens if my FMLA request is rejected after a week or so? My therapist is recommending FMLA and is prepared to provide documentation. 7. I'm trying to send out my resume but not getting any calls. Any leads would be appreciated

Have you talked to HR? Your skip? Coworkers? My former boss was universally hated on my team for a few reasons. One of them was he went after one guy who mostly everyone liked. They went and told their story to HR (saying how they feel discriminated against (they love to hear that)) and our skip. Also got backup from L6s on the team. Because he documented everything and had good reports on him from coworkers, he beat focus.
Thanks for your responses folks. I worked day and night and on weekends to deliver projects on time. But it’s never enough for them. My team and especially the management here is very toxic. My manager also literally shouted at me recently due to a couple of sev-3s. I don’t know how to react. I found it demeaning and wrong. Should I go to the HR? II’ve lost all motivation and energy to work here anymore. I see a lot of similar Amazon stories on blind. Are there any decent orgs in Amazon?
Leave. You deserved to be treated well. HR are there only to protect the company. You can find any company that will be better than amazon. Do not let them treat you like a toy.
Open linkedin, reply to all those consultants who might have cold messaged you on LI and check if position is available. Go for referrals. Ask every friend to refer you in their company. Not aware of FMLA details, so refrain from commenting.
