Tips to break into PM Talk shows on building the best product Webinars and tsunami of newsletters This celebrity behavior makes me wonder 1. I am either failing at my PM role- bec haven’t done any of that above 2. These people are hardly building products themselves if they have so much time Have a weird fomo but I am more inclined towards sharpening my skills and doing point no 2. Am I being naive?
Lately it’s been increasing and getting annoying . I can think of few reasons 1. In most of the companies as a pm you can’t get shit don’t, unless you are in the top 2. Even if you do a reasonable job, it’s thankless and hardly Eng gives any credit to PM. 3. So pm’s start to sell themself because lack of credits or appreciation. This creeps fear of the job profile and people end up justifying why they exist 4. Finally yesteryear PM’s did this so much to make it sound as the most glamorous role calling it mini ceo etc and sold the role so much. There are tons of people who can’t code but want to make money and have a respectable profile.
Then it seems like a legit thing to do doesn’t it? I am evaluating to see - if there’s a pov I’m missing out. Bec i write and speak really well but I’m unable to resonate with the idea/goal of what seems to me as nonsense
It’s a personal choice. If you feel like doing go ahead. I don’t feel like at this point. Btw many start to do so, expecting to make a side income like starting up a course or coach etc .. as long as there are 1000’s s who wants to move into Pm space I guess many will have a share of the meet.
People who are genuinely busy at work building substantial products don’t have time to write BS on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a cesspool of woke culture that has probably overtaken Twitter. Men writing shit and posting crying selfies while women posts selfies that has zero relevance to the post they write.
There was a post on confidence and the writer put a hiking pic of theirs on it. And it was quite viral. And I was like wtf? But since these folks go viral do they get incentives in promotions? I’m talking about relatively better content creators on LinkedIn - not the super cringy ones
