Considering Pivot from Tech Consulting into SWE

Manager at EY here, technology consulting group. TC $150k. I have been pondering to make a pivot to an SWE role for sometime now. I have a degree in accounting and management information systems. I'm also self taught python developer. ( I may be overestimating my capabilities but would like to think of myself as pretty good Due to my work and hobbies, I have a broad tech skillet with specific focus in data science domain (ml/dl algos, ETL, stats, data visualization, databases etc). I think of myself as pretty techy and typically can 'google' my way out of most tech problems I have seen to date. Throughout my career, I have built tools and improved various processes. So I feel like I am doing similar work that SWE would do just not at super technical level (if this makes sense at all) Few questions to the community? 1. Is it feasible to land a SWE role without compromising the current TC? 2. What other skills should I focus on honing to have a shot at SWE role? Is python enough or should I pick up a lower level language? Nb: I started leet coding for a couple of days now. 3. Should I consider a non-SWE role that would still allow me to be in a relatively deep technical capacity? (I like building and tinkering with things) 4. Assuming #1 is feasible, what level should I plan on applying for in SWE world? Thank you all in advance!

Your TC is definitely going to be less, unless you spent a while grinding the hell outa leetcode and side projects. Then if you got into entry level FAANG you might keep the current tc
