From 2019-2022, even PMs were making 500k TC. An average sde at FANG was making 350k and recruiters were clearing 200k posting day in the life on tik tok Are those days over? Will there be a rebalance to salaries back to 2015 levels where only directors with 100+ reports were clearing 500k.
It’s showtime
😔
Lawsuit time Microsoft! Lol
I’m curious whether they’ll just cut the highest paid engineers or offer them less money.
Tech is still extraordinarily lucrative. The salaries are here to stay, but ridiculous overpaying is over. I doubt we’ll see Meta/Google/Doordash etc. throw 500k at someone who’s making 200k currently.
According to Levels and Blind, people still get $400k thrown at them for senior and mid level positions. Netflix, Stripe, Databricks, Snowflake, AirBnB, Bytedance, Square.. As always even in the 90’s, just gotta work for the right one.
Stripes TC for new hires just got cut hard. <300k for senior now, down from 400-450k
Just give it a couple more years to catch up to inflation
i make $500k and post day-in-life videos on tiktok
I just got a 450k offer as a pm

You’re mixing two different things. Here’s the change that I’m seeing (not at Salesforce) 1. Hiring Bar is very high so no more bootcamp grads coming in to earn 200-300k. 2. Headcount is associated with the work that is outlined for the year or so. No more hiring redundant engineers because of whatever reason. 3. We’re still paying $500k+ (myself included) to the right person. If you aren’t able to prove your worth, you’re let go in 4-6 months
Are you lmts or above?

PMs and recruiters gravy trains ending
its not over, but all those dollars are now worth 1/8 of what they used to be thanks to fiat currency and geopolitics
I hope not
I hope I had a Bugatti and a penthouse in 5th avenue now. How is that gonna help?
You want a Bugatti? How tacky.
