Are there advantages to taking an offer at McKinsey post undergrad or should I go with a venture capital position at a tech company? I want to optimize for maximize income over the next 10-15 years without sacrificing WLB too much.
Maximizing income and wlb are different paths. Choose the way first
VC is better for WLB!
Lol MBB and WLB don’t belong in the same sentence.
MBB.
Starting as a VC early career is the wrong path to take. Check how many VC analysts made it to partner. To maximize your income, the best path to take is a role in product (engg/product mgmt) in a tech company. Gives you credibility to be a VC partner if that's your goal or pursue entrepreneurship or just grow in the function and make bank.

Well consulting and WLB don’t mix and rarely does VC and WLB so best bet is VC with a definite higher earning potential.
