Mom Friends - Don’t Exist!
Hi Folks, I am a former walmart intern (Summer 2022) , graduated in May 2023 then joined a startup in CA but got laid off last week . I am available immediately A brief background about me: I am international in the US and hold a MS Computer Software Engineering degree from a Top 50 School in the US. Have close to 3 years of work experience in building scalable , distributed and resilient applications. Have in-depth knowledge of Java, Javascript , Python and their related frameworks coupled with Cloud Technologies like Azure, AWS and Devops tools like Docker , Kubernetes and Jenkins. If your firm is looking for Software engineers who can join immediately I would be grateful if you can refer me . It would be really helpful #tech
Which Visa you are on?
He graduated in may 23 which visa he will have ?
Is there any reason Walmart didn’t have return offer ? Or they just don’t ? Anyway, try looking for contract roles as well to help with Visa and then you can keep on looking for full-time
no reason was given to me as such , last year there were some reorg happening though during july and august. they usually convert all the interns but last year was different
Some advice: 1) No one cares about Top 50 school. Maybe Top 10, but people will know you are smart when they interview you. 2) You don't have in-depth knowledge of anything in my book and - at 3 years of experience - you don't need to yet. You need to know how to build good software. What have you built? Who is using it? How many people used it? What have you learned in the last 3 years? What mistakes have you made?
I know , I was just giving a background about myself . I know everything depends on how you perform in the interview . I am on a Visa so i have limited time , have been applying and not getting anything . My mental health is going down day by day but still i am trying my best to stay hopeful . So i thought I would reach out on blind.
Stay strong dude. You will find something, expand your radius if you are so time crunched. Then while employed, you can find something better.
