I received an internship from Bloomberg for a research position. First I want to ask about the return offers provided to the intern, is it very common? I liked my interviews and especially the interviewers, they all seemed to be very knowledgable and up to date in the ML research field. But I noticed a pattern of many of them staying at Bloomberg for the long term. Is it that comfortable there that makes you want to stay forever? Also, I want to ask about Bloomberg as an international New Grad (Ph.D. - ML). Since the new law of H1B, does it make more sense to join Bloomberg at the beginning since they offer more base and hence more chance for the H1B? BTW, do you guys know the research position salaries at Bloomberg, I am guessing it is different than the standard SWE offers? A final question about New York and the WLB, how do you guys feel about it? YOE: PhD - current student TC: less than peanut #bloomberg #machinelearning #research
Feel free to DM me
How is the TC like?
As an intern you would do a lot of research but once you come in full time in AI group it will be lot more software engineering
Is the software engineering more like machine learning engineering? Or developing features
Yeah there is ML stuff, kubernetes etc but I’d still say it is all swe and infra
