Hello fellow King County, WA residents. If you own a home, prepare to shit a brick. Property taxes went up by 30% over last year. https://kingcounty.gov/en/legacy/depts/finance-business-operations/treasury/property-tax It’s gonna make this year’s freeze on merit increases that much more brutal. #mortgage #housing #seattle
Pay your fair share
30 percent? You're sure? That seems like an awful lot. Looks like state property taxes are capped at 1% a year. There was a bill to hike it to 3% but it looks like it was nixxed. Or are you referring to the proposition passed to levy money to build crisis care centers?
Laughs in Prop 13
Yes it’s bullshit. Next year will be better though, they actually will go down.
That’s what you get when you vote Democrat every time.
Dropped by 18% compared to 2022 in king county
How? My property value is pretty flat from last year. What’s the driver?
Take a look at Redfin estimate for this property https://redf.in/xiBSky, it came down in 2023 as interest rates rose. King county in avg saw 9% decline yoy in 2023.
I’m in Snohomish county and challenge the property tax every year. They always make concessions on the spot. Push back
Is merit increase frozen for all Microsoft this year as well ?
Yes
My property taxes fell 30% YoY, also King County. Thanks for paying my taxes!
Why? How?
Assessment dropped 30% in my area
