I was seeing some decent deals for used xc90, around 30k for a top of the line plug in front 2017. I usually buy used cars that we 2 to 3 years old and they work out well. Unsure about Volvo though and that too plug in hybrid t8. Does anyone know whether this is a good idea or an albatross waiting to happen I certainly would hate to spend time and money on car repairs. Some friends advice to stick to Toyota to avoid random check engine lights etc but I really wanted an electric option as I love the drive style of pure ev mode.
Be careful about the reliability once the warranty is gone
Fr if you want to buy an bmw X7 M60 let me know. I’m tryna get rid of mine
What's wrong with it?
XC90 is a great car. What's the mileage? That matters more than model year. If it's high (above 75k or so) then you may be looking at some expensive repairs in the not too distant future. But my 2018 (non PHEV) has about 45k miles and no major issues so far. Also, consider how much the PHEV is worth it to you. I think the early model range was low (like 19 miles), and will be even lower in real world setting. Unless you're only making short trips spaced out far enough to recharge in between, you'll end up using the gas engine most of the time anyways. If you can find one, the RAV4 prime is a great option. It lacks a luxury feel, but gets 40 miles of EV range and has typically Toyota reliability. But the PHEV is only 1-2 years old so it may be tough to find one used.
It was around 60k miles. I don't think the electric only range has changed much, even 2022 is only 18 miles. 2017 is like 14. Miles
Old ones prior to 2019 had very less miles on the battery. You should buy any thing after 2020
Plz no, call the dealer and ask what charges are for repairs etc and you’ll wish you bought a 20k$ espresso machine
