How does Pinterest score candidates during the onsite rounds? Does it follow a pattern such as strong no hire / weak no hire / weak hire / strong hire or something similar? What’s normally the score needed to pass with today’s bar?
We rate weak/strong no hire/hire. If you get weak hire across the board you can still get offer. You can get hired if you get 1 or maybe 2 no hire rating especially if you get strong hire from another. My advice is to focus on being someone people want to work with. If you communicate well and accept feedback people are more willing to overlook knowledge gaps or imperfect coding. We recognize interviews are stressful but look for behavior patterns consistently present throughout your interviews.
Got it, thanks so much for this. Had my onsite today and I think it went really well. Slightly concerned about one of the coding rounds, didn’t have a chance to fix a slight bug in the follow up question. I think communication was the strong suit but will know for sure next week.
Best of luck 🤞enjoy your weekend!
