Is DoorDash a positive leap towards MAANG?
YOE: 5 Long story short, I made the decision to jump from PwC to Fiserv thinking it would be a good progression into the technology space, since data analytics consulting isn't too prestigious in the tech industry. Anyways, based off of all these rejection (no interview) emails and severe lack of responses in my job search this past month at "places supposedly MAD hiring rn", I've started to realize that it may have been a mistake in my pursuit of MAANG. Recently, I started interviewing for a role at DoorDash, pay and role seem pretty decent, but I don't want to find myself in my next possible job hunt struggling to get interviews. Seriously? How the heck did I get an interview with them, but not even an interview from any of the MAANG? Also compared to the amounts posted on Blind, I wouldn't say the pay is necessarily better...
Ex Amazonian here. Got offers from Apple DD and FB . DD beat them all. @malloc has a valid point. Itās very difficult to stand out in an ocean of smart people. Like in Meta. There are no growth opportunities. Hard to find impactful projects because everything is done and dusted. This company has been there for 18 yrs. on the other hand DD is still at infant stage. Better green field projects and more interesting work. Work close to leadership. Here there are 1000s of smart guys.
Doordash is better than faang. Thats where people go from faang.

Yes itās a perfect step to FAANG if thatās your ultimate goal. The comp will be at the same levels as FAANG so if itās just comp youāre after youāre not missing anything by going to DD first.
