I accepted a full time position with PepsiCo down in Dallas last September. However, I really want to be in the tech space, specifically supply chain in tech in the future, and received an offer from Palo Alto Networks also in Dallas. Is it worth going back on my other offer? PepsiCo - Supply Chain Analyst TC: 73K Signing and relocation: 10K PAN - Associate Systems Engineer TC: 110K Signing and relocation: 20k

If you already work there, is this even reneging? Just sounds like quitting and moving on to me, which is totally normal…
Might have been a contractor going FT. And if they accepted the offer this would indeed be a reneg. Still the general advice here to go for it anyway looks good to me too. Sometimes you have to burn bridges and do what’s best for you.
I was an intern last summer and it turned into a full time offer. I wouldn’t start until the end of July so it’s not on short notice.
Yes, you have almost 50k reasons for going back on it
100% reject PepsiCo
Yes do what’s good for you and your career. A bridge may be burnt here, but long term the PAN path is likely much better for you (not to mention a solid TC difference already.) If you feel guilty about this: for the next year order Pepsi (or diet Pepsi) with your Pizza, then call it even.
Thank you! I was feeling a little guilty since I’m the type of person to stick to my commitments but at the same want to do what’s best for me in the long term.
I’ve been in this industry 20+ years, companies don’t think twice before laying you off. Have seen this play out over and over. So your main concern should be to yourself and your family; that’s it. All the best!
Yes, reneg. Many years ago a director of something or the other propositioned me sex in exchange for the job offer. So, they may not be the most ethical co
Wow I’m appalled. Do you remember which department??
As a former Pepsi Intern turned supply chain analyst. Yes, take the PAN offer. No offense, but they have 100s of new hires come in every year, and a long list of people waiting for some of the more premier roles, so you’ll likely open up a spot for someone who really wanted the Dallas location. Congrats on both offers
73TC is way low. 75K to 80K was the average Starting salary was given to L7 in 2018. Dont come here if you really want to be working with cool tech. Go for PAN
Yes, reneg and congrats on the new offer
