Solar panels in PNW

I live in king county in WA and I am trying to get solar panels for my house. I have talked to a couple of companies - Lumio and Solgen Power. The price they have quoted varies a lot. Does anyone here have any experience working with one of these vendors for their home solar installation - or any other solar companies for that matter? #seattle #kingcounty #solar

The sun isn’t real

Can’t believe people in Seattle put solar panels. What’s the point when there is no Sun around. Obviously Solar panel companies will promise the next coming of Jesus Christ to make their sales quota

Germany gets the same sun exposure and leads the world in solar power generation

Lumio was at my place, and said we can generate only 50%. I don’t think it is worth in Seattle TBH

my neighbors added panels. they said it would take years for them to to make sense financially/pay-off (because of the way it works with PSE) but I think they did it to be "green"

Apparently it Adds RE value to your home. I call it Bs especially in PNW

Is this real? Do people actually use solar in PNW? I love the concept but in winter the days are very short and it's almost always cloudy. I guess they will work pretty well in summer. What are you going to power with them?

so interestingly, my neighbor who got them, said you dont "power anything" specifically with them, they connect to the PSE grid and by virtue of that, you get PSE credits based on much power they generate. so I think that means you dont actually have a direct backup source of power to use. not sure if this is true of all "installed" panels....

Yes it makes sense for some houses that get enough sun during the summer years to offset their winter consumption. Check out net metering 1.0.
