Hi. I have 4 years of experience. I’ve been a Lead Engineer at my company (San Francisco) for 2.5 years. I currently make $150k plus $30k annual cash bonus. I’m interviewing for a “senior engineer” role at Salesforce (specifically Heroku). What sort of compensation package should I expect/ask for?
Depending on how you perform you can get TC to 280k or higher as lmts
Tough to get LMTS with 4 years of experience. Most experienced folks (5-7 years) have joined teams in my cloud as SMTS. It will be up to your interview performance. Leveling is done by the team, but the HM is the final decision maker. A lof interviewers are normally conservative on giving out higher levels.
If i don’t make SMTS, should I expect to receive a pay cut? Or will they just give me a lower level with the same pay?
I don't expect Salesforce to give you an offer below what you're making. Just consider that we don't give out generous stock. And refreshers are only given to the very top performers (think 5-10%). I've gotten 1 refresher in my 4+ years here.
For SMTS, I’d estimate you’d get anywhere between 150-170k base, 15% bonus and 75k RSU.
Is there a signing bonus?
^this. I’m sure you could negotiate a sign on too, 10-25k.
I interviewed there recently after constant push by recruiter saying its awesome , had to pull out midway(after rpt test) after they told they wont be able to match 75% of current tc. Good on the recruiter that they dint waste my time/theirs for onsite
For SMTS, I think they can only match to your current base or may be 10% more. Try for LMTS
