- HubSpot (Senior Software Engineer): 160k base 180k RSU / 4 years 20K signing bonus TC Year one: 225k Full remote - working in Austin - Indeed (Research Engineer II): 135K base 10-20% Annual bonus 133k RSU / 4 years 30K Signing Bonus TC year one 218K (assumed 15% bonus) Flex - Austin (office perks) Curious to know your opinion on TC progression at either company via refreshers or promotions (if you have previous experience). I assume WLB and culture are similar at both companies. Correct me if I am wrong. I appreciate your feedback in comments as well. Thanks! Current TC 160K YOE: 5
Is this a Senior 1 or Senior 2 role from HubSpot?
Senior 1
Thats a really high base for senior 1, must be the high end in the band or new nyc adjusted bands
Which team for HubSpot? I also have offer from HubSpot with similar numbers.
I think Research Engineer is old TBA…if yes, don’t join and if decided to join expect you will not have any hike for next 2-3 yrs.
Yes, they just changed the name from TBA/Product Developer.
Yup. It’s the old TBA role. Take the eng title at the other place
HubSpot hands down, better culture, better product, brighter (stock) future. LinkedIn will overtake Indeed soon if it hasn’t already for job searches.
Thank you for the feedback.
+1 with regards to LinkedIn. indeed has never been a good option for top tech role job hunting.
Hubspot and leave Austin. Take that TC to Houston, for example, and live like a king.
Agree! Austin’s col is getting out of control.
With 5 yoe. I’d aim at 250k TC in austin. These numbers were good 2-3 years ago.
Been SSWE at HubSpot for a few years and on track for a promo soon. But seeing your numbers made me very upset. I just accepted a counter offer from HubSpot after I received 3 higher offers from other companies. Gave up maybe 40k TC to stay for the culture and the people. But even after a raise and refresher, my TC is still lower than your offer before signing bonus... Good offer. Take it. HubSpot WLB and culture are great.
What do the yearly refreshers look like for a Senior 1?
At indeed, that first year TC looks good but you will end up with less over the course of a several years.
This is correct they tried to match the comp via sign on bonus. I accepted the offer at Hubspot. Ty
