Anyone here working at ChargePoint? Are you remote or in CA? What’s it like? How’s WLB/TC? Toxic culture or nice? Thanks
I work remotely in CA, as most non-HW-engineers do, due to COVID. Schedules are demanding, as are schedules in any recently IPO’d firm. Don’t bother applying if you are looking to “rest-and-vest”. Culture is data-driven. Objectives & Key Results are as numerical as I’ve seen in my 20+ years in Silicon Valley. The CEO is an engineer. The mantra is that value is only being created when code is being written. Bureaucracy and consensus is not tolerated. Robust deliberation; the strongest argument wins.
Can you share a bit about TC breakdown? Thank you
I know [someone] that worked there. EE is solid, but poor wlb due to deliverables. The rest of Engr (ME, SW) and OPS are led by APple alumni SVPs. Extremely toxic and nepotism is as high as this friend of mine has ever experienced.
Thank you, what was the pay like if I may ask?
I don't have those exact numbers, bc my friend left pre-ipo, but he did say base was low 100s, and he was getting ~6k shares annually, so assuming today's price of $20/share, that works out to +120k. Maybe 250 tc?
