Anyone wasted their 20s at low tc position?
I’m depressed…bay area housing prices not dropping…looking to buy a single family home about 3000 sq ft move in ready in Burlingame near downtown, St Francis Wood or Presidio Heights. Price range around 3 million but only see in 4 million range. What do I do? Aren’t housing prices supposed to crash in this economy? Life is not fair. Sigh…😞
Leave Bay Area
US government has no interest in solving any real problems like housing shortage. And bay area is filled with selfish as fk NIMBYs. Good luck increasing housing supply but you can be pretty much assured that prices have plateaued.
Bay area NIMBYs didn't even flinch when their kids had to move out to Boulder or Austin. They are on a different level! But I do think it's going to catch up. The day millennials learn enough about prop 13 and decide to actually go out and vote in every elections, things will change. Prop 13 should be applicable to only one house a owner has, the house they reside in. Nowhere else. And commercial real estate shouldn't even qualify.
+100 to prop 13 not applying for businesses. I'm really sad it didn't pass last time, people are stupid.
Oh poor you. You could rent just like us peasants.
Bay Area prices don’t crash. That’s why you invest in property here. Reduce your requirements to meet your budget bc 3000 sq ft is overkill. Or redo your budget to get the McMansion you want.
You can move Morgan Hill
St Francis Wood nice area
What about Marin?
Oh no, whatever shall you do!? Settle for a $3 million home like a commoner!?
I feel ya. My budget is $8M, but homes that I like are around $10M. WTF. Life is so unfair.
housing prices are sticky and never ever go down unless some major fuck up happens. They might stay the same for a while though..
And if some major fuck up happens, you, me, and every other regard on here will be too terrified to buy a house. While there are people like OP waiting for prices to drop, there is demand, so prices wont drop
Very well said.
