Is Epic certification worth it? I am going to take cog170 for my position. I heard that the test is hard and I know some people at my job passed and some didn’t. Some have taken the classes but refused to take the test. Any input would be helpful. #Epic #health #healthcare #epiccompensation #cog170
EPIC certification is super in demand…. Jobs are like 30%-40% more salary for having the certification because you need to be working for epic or a job that has ties with epic to get the certification. If you can do it, just study hard and do it. For example I got a Epic Ambulatory Certification for my previous job and I applied out and the competition is so much less and salary starting with 1 YOE with certification is like 120-150k+. I think I can give u more info if you let me know if you work for Epic or not and what your current role is
I don’t work for epic but I work at a clinic that transition to Epic about a year ago. My current role is a data analyst. I am very new to the role, so everything is a learning curve. Any suggestions on passing or any info your willing to share in general is helpful.
I’d say don’t worry about your current job right now. If you have the opportunity to study and take a Epic Certification then 100% go for it. Doesn’t hurt to try atleast. Yes the test is hard and specific to each certification. The biggest thing is that you need to know the system of the certification like the back of your hand. This may very well be one of the hardest tests you take but this test will guarantee a 30% raise atleast. If you don’t believe me, search the epic certification you are going to take on LinkedIn with jobs as a filter and take a look at the salary ranges. If there’s anything to invigorate you to do the test, the salaries will definitely convince you. If you do well and get certified you can literally start applying to other jobs and 1.5 or 2x your current TC.
