Cloudkitchen offer

Help evaluate ck/city storage systems offer base: 175k equity: 400k (@ their new 15B valuation. avg over 4 years actual vest is 10/20/30/40) But the equity are actually granted at ~12B valuation, so technically the equity is only ~300k. So TC would only be 475k at the value they are granting the equity. Am i greedy thinking this is a bit low? would only be 5% increase over my current... and i want to feel like the blind heroes getting 100% TC increases... appreciate some inputs. Current TC: 450k YOE: 9 #Cloudkitchens #equity #startup

I am interviewing at cloudkitchens next week, I have also heard that they lowball people and I'm a bit worried about it. The 15 B evaluation makes me really skeptical oh, I really don't think that they're actually worth that much

If you knew the numbers we know internally, you’d think CK is undervalued

Amazon Ppgwd Jan 14, 2022

I'm interviewing in 2 weeks. Will see how it goes

Risk is very high.

There is no more any risk already.

Microsoft iwnahslsb Sep 3, 2022

Why say so ? They have a Long way to go public

Verizon Media avjytre Jan 14, 2022

Isn’t it founded by ex uber ceo/founder?

Amazon ajdfx89df OP Jan 14, 2022

it is.

OP - what is the total equity given to you? How is your new TC 475k?

Amazon ajdfx89df OP Jan 14, 2022

$1.2M @ the 12b valuation

I think that’s a great offer. From what I can tell, it is more than 90% of our offers recently

Autodesk RajeevC Jan 14, 2022

This compay won’t go anywhere for at least 7-8 years, do you want to stay that long?

New
jangly Jan 14, 2022

If that’s the case, no one would have joined (including me). Obviously we know something you don’t ;)

Autodesk RajeevC Jan 14, 2022

Yes they’ll do well as they’ve lots of money to gamble

Snap tr4xk89 Jan 14, 2022

What’s your title? I think for your YOE, equity and salary can be higher

Amazon ajdfx89df OP Jan 14, 2022

im L6 at amazon. Actually not sure what title I'll have there haha... never asked

Amazon axCh52 Jan 16, 2022

Title will always be software engineer.

Meta Candianswe Jan 14, 2022

employees who joined in the previous 3 years of Ubers IPOs didn’t make anything. Keep that in mind. Also the cloud kitchen idea is way worse than Uber

IMO CloudKitchens is a very high margin business. CloudKitchens is just one of several verticals the company is operating. Non-employees have no idea what we are up to.

Amazon ajdfx89df OP Jan 14, 2022

oh wow... would've thought those that joined uber 3 years before IPO would have at least seen some upside, even with the stock going below IPO price..

Qualia lllllllljl Jan 14, 2022

Pretty weird vesting schedule I think

Uber ejbV7 Jan 18, 2022

Backloaded equity is a risk, but ensures the company is building for the future Nice to not to have to worry about spaghetti code but those who are planning on vesting a year and leaving :)

New

All this given some other companies are offering frontloaded vesting. Seems like Travis wants to keep the employees who no longer want to stay.

Your math is wrong regarding the equity.

Amazon ajdfx89df OP Jan 14, 2022

how so?

New
griddle Jan 14, 2022

300 at 12B is not 400 at 15B. It’s more like 375.

Autodesk RajeevC Jan 14, 2022

Also the core idea is already copied by “Local Kitchens”

New
jangly Jan 14, 2022

If you think so, you guys clearly don’t know what the company is doing.

Autodesk RajeevC Jan 14, 2022

Well i am sure you’re doing something great if you’re an insider, after all you’ve lots of cash to burn
