Precisely why I avoided such cities at all cost. Other cities are so much nicer, Palo Alto, Cupertino, Los Gatos. Even San Jose feels nicer.

The difference is most of the bay area desis are educated, work in high paying jobs, law abiding and on H1B with no voting power. Oth most desis in Canada/Vancouver are illiterate Punjabi villagers, work in blue collar jobs (grocery stores, truck drivers), involved in all kind of sleazy activities(drugs, retail theft, car theft , mortgage fraud) and are citizens of Canada. I’ll take Bay area gladly on any day.
