Super high taxes, high crime rate(I live and work in sf), lots of shits on the street(motherfucker I almost stepped onto one of them the other day), foggy and cold, houses are much overpriced. CA government steals too much money from my paychecks but not doing a single helpful thing to help the city, but instead wanted to build more injection sites to help the addicts? lmao wtf? then what's the point of rehabs? Oakland's crime rate is even worse and I can go on and on... What other cities are good for tech folks? preferably in a different state. yoe 3.5 tc 210
Seattle
Seattle has poop on the streets and plenty of drug users and homeless. Taxes are better, though.
Seattle is doing exactly the same....
Seattle
Seattle is not too bad. Lived there 8.5 years and have nothing negative to say.
Eugene, OR
Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino or anywhere in the South Bay (except San Jose)
You listed the most boring places in the world
Op wanted to get away from junkies, human feces on the street, and syringes…
Rockridge (Oakland) San Mateo Los Gatos Mountain View
Unlike. Last 3 are some of the most overpriced suburbs on the planet. Rockridge is interesting but very very expensive and you’re still in Oakland.
Move to Oakland and get shot the next day. No Thanks
LA but it’s basically just Silicon Valley with more money & better weather
Better weather?
If you’re coastal/on the westside yes. It rarely breaks 80 (except for the occasional heat wave) . Downtown is another story however, microclimates are wild in CA
The biggest question is are you remote? Or would you be looking for a new job? If money and having kids wasn’t something I’m involved in now, I wouldn’t even live in the states tbh. But with that being said, you have to see what you hate about where you are, and then see what you love about it. If you can’t stand what you hate because it over shadows what you like, then look to other cities that have what you like. Anywhere you move to in this country, it’s still Shitz creek, we just deal the hand we are given
NYC? You won't avoid the taxes but you'll probably have a better quality of life depending on how you make use of the city.
How does NYC not have shit on the ground like SF/Oakland does?
I've lived here for a year now and go out often, I've one seen shit once in the subway. People definitely exaggerate. Yeah it's filthy, but not unbearable.
Texas 🤠
hot af but def a valid option i been considering
Don’t get nobody pregnant
