It will sound dumb but I want to take a break of 2 or 3 months for my mental health and go somewhere live in a remote location. Problem is I work at infosys and don't even have 1 yr of experience. Will it be a career suicide if I take this step?
Give a medical reason and you can take off
take a leave for a week or two, dont do anything "productive" in that, it should be enough. Leaving the job adds unnecessary pressure , you will start getting worried about interviews etc. and wont be able to enjoy the break. If a two week break does not help you, then you can consider taking this step may be.
Career suicide? I am surprised why do you think in this extreme language. You have not even started your career properly. You have 40 years of working ahead. Don't think too much. If you are privileged or have savings, take time off.
I would take whichever days you could (sick, PTO) first. I went through something similar and imo 2 weeks should get you rested if not you can always take more days. Take the days either way, because you earned it and because they wonβt payout the PTO if you leave. Just take care of yourself whatever you do :)
Do you have annual leaves? If yes, use them may not be months, but 2 weeks for starters. Maybe you can discuss with manager and go on a unpaid leave. Note : I'm a fresher as well, so I'm not sure, these are things which came to my mind.
