I'm interested in applying and looking for some insider insight. 1. what's the best way for me to get interview? I have 10 YOE in HW/SW, but limited exposure to AI/ML. I am confident in my technical agility to pick them up if I want to 2. saw some news about early founding members leaving. Is the company still in good shape or mess? 3. With the current valuation, is it still worth to join now? 4. do they sponsor h1b? I'm close to get GC on my own (spouse route) Tc: 200k 🥜 #groq
Avoid. They Hire and fire.
Can you elaborate? Was it a recent event? I see they have a pretty high score in Blind pulse
Groq as a company is a work-in-progress and it'll be a journey, and it has its own problems, but it is still the best gig I've had so far. I'd work with the same crew again without a second thought if this company ever goes bust (which is a possibility you'd prepare for joining ANY start-up doing something disruptive.) (Worked at both semiconductor companies and internet hyperscalars before this.) But yea, get ready to grind and navigate the overall lack of predictable direction and structures - with that, it does come with a lot of autonomy and growth. The peer pressure is also quite real - the folks here are quite good and are hard not to compare yourself to.
Your head of chip architectures keep leaving after one another, care to elaborate?
Friend used to work there told me the CEO is clueless about business, keeps changing his mind and wants to control everything. Very little market traction vs hype
I'm on the software side, but I joined recently and this place is awesome. Growing pains for sure, but the people here are next level
Why only Groq? And not some photonics chip startup, or a RISC-V startup?
Interested too, but do not want to distract the topic
