My Facebook knows exactly what’s going on in my life (and that I’m laid off and looking at various networking or up-skill opportunities) 😅. It’s been advertising these programs from the likes of Wharton, eCornell, and Berkeley Haas. Fellow Blind friends seeking the next endeavor or sharpening your tools, would you sign up for programs like this? #layoff #networking #upskill
If the company is covering it, then whatever. I don't know who would want to pay for this themselves.
It might not be of value to you, but to some, this allows networking and access to an elevated range of professionals that you might otherwise not be exposed to. The privileged networks with other privileged so it opens different doors.
It's an online course so unclear how much networking this would enable. The top 5 MBA programs are worthwhile due to the networking, but those are in person.
I did this particular course. It’s actually pretty good but I dont think you would get local networking. I would leave it to when a company will pay it for you. Best of luck!
If you are in a non-tech or senior leadership role, definitely. The knowledge and networking opportunities are great, not to mention the strong curriculum at each school. If you are a tech, don't waste your time. Most of the materials covered will not make sense to you and will likely frustrate you, so why bother?
Bro it’s been forever since I saw gap on here (Former gap dev here) Do you still get tuition reimbursement? The best value for that, when I worked at gap, was OMSCS
How did OMSCS help you
Oh it didn’t, I was too lazy for it. Sorry I didn’t clarify. I thought it would be a huge boost to my career but I didn’t know if I could handle work + studying. I put my effort into 2 weeks or so of leetcode, got a job at amazon and the rest is history. Was thinking of the best value for my time, though I would love to get my PHD one day, not sure if I can afford the opportunity cost
