Microsoft to Qualtrics?
Received an L4 (SDE2) offer from Qualtrics. Base: 160k Equity: 300k with 40% vesting after year 1, 25% yearly afterwards with quarterly vesting Yearly bonus is 5% For Qualtrics: First year TC - 288k Second year TC and afterwards - 228k Current TC - 200k, L61 YoE 2 yrs Concerns: Qualtrics isn’t as well know as Microsoft. Worried about future impact on career due this lack of branding. Qualtrics Team isn’t too sure about the work I will be doing. In year 2, I will be making almost making 40k more than my current TC. Around 15% bump to my current TC. Worth the move?
IMHO it really depends if your growth is stagnant at MS or not. If you have at all decent manager and a promo path, you should get promo and try a jump to Amazon (or other big tech) where you would get 275-280 + real stock growth for sde2 w/ 3 yoe and good interviews. You will make much more money over 5 years that way, and have a stronger resume
Got promoted few months back. Next promotion is going to take atleast an year or two. I am fed up with my low TC. I see your point. Though is branding really that big a deal? On side note refreshers for L4 at Qualtrics are around 100k. Though unable to confirm this with recruiter.
Low TC? You make 200k for having jack shit in experience lol
I would say keep interviewing as there are too many unknowns with your Qualtrics offer.
