According to census data, there were more non white births than white births in recent years. The white majority America had for years will start disappearing soon(2045). It is about time GOP starts reaching out to minorities. I totally support GOP Economic agenda of small government, free market capitalism and minimal government intervention. However, the social issues GOP take, such as stance against Homosexuality, Abortion, GUN Laws, Immigrants alienates large chunk of minority voters. It is now time that GOP softens it's stand on these social issues and start promoting it's economic agenda among young voters. Average age of a white person is 58, while that of non white is 27. It is clear that current GOP base will only shrink in the future. GOP must ensure that it is carrying forward the ideas of small government that made America a super power. If they stick to their social issues, they will eventually lose big time to Dems. If Dems start to implement economic policies of the left, America will be doomed. Just sharing my 2 cents a POC and supporter of free market capitalism. "Freer the market, freer the people" #uspolitics #politics #elections https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/06/23/its-official-minority-babies-are-the-majority-among-the-nations-infants-but-only-just/%3famp=1
What you're looking for is Libertarian Party
Yeah, but there base is too small. The change needs to come from GOP. GOP needs to be inclusive to stop growth of socialism in America.
It is too less. Also, I don't believe that gen z is more conservative. You see, opposing homo sexuality and abortion are major issues with GOP. I mean, state should not interfere in these matters. Who else opposes Homosexuality and Abortion? Iran. GOP can do better than that, no point in having laws that are consistent with middle eastern countries. As for Socialism, I hate it to the core. All I want to say is that, I agree on most part with GOP, but it needs to soften it's stand on social issues.
@mvp, according to pew research, gen z wants an activist government. https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/essay/on-the-cusp-of-adulthood-and-facing-an-uncertain-future-what-we-know-about-gen-z-so-far/
"GOP must ensure that it is carrying forward the ideas of small government that made America a super power." Counterpoint, every single thing that the US has done to become a super power (expansionism, military victories against other empires, WW2, Cold War, Space Race) is an example of big government in action. "Freer the market, freer the people" I think that got already disproved between 1850 and 1930, where the need of regulation was exposed by how corporations ignored the well being of both workers and customers. People seem to think that the alternative of a strong state is a strong individual, when in reality, the alternative to a strong state is a strong private oligarchy.
Is that why millions of skilled immigrants come to the US and get rich? How is that possible in an oligarchy? Are you confusing meritocracy with oligarchy?
What made US a superpower were it's entrepreneurs. By small government I mean that state should not run business. They are not efficient and effective. Strong state is bad in every aspect. Strong state also comes with a baggage of nationalism. You say anything against the state, you are a spy. In the end, the richest man in the US did not get his wealth from inheritance, he created it. You cannot find such examples anywhere else in the world.
Fuck this, one of the core values of Conservatism is to preserve our culture. We don't need more immigrants in this country to erase the white culture.
Interesting that you equate white-American culture with American culture, when there are other cultures that are as American, like the native-American or black-American.
:) @_maga no wonder, immigrants don't vote for GOP. Like it or not, whites will be minority in the future. You can look at data to see it. If anything, immigrants make the country strong. It will be up to GOP to either expand its base, or see a slow death. CEO of the company you work for is an immigrant. Perhaps, the gop right now is too afraid to lose its core base (people like you @_maga)
Once affirmative action is in full swing, Asians will onboard. Republicans should use religious anchors to reach out to Latinos. That’s my two cents.
Well, I guess a large chunk still might be with Dems. I was talking to my gen z cousin. He said, he supports high taxes. They should reach out quickly, before it is too late https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/essay/on-the-cusp-of-adulthood-and-facing-an-uncertain-future-what-we-know-about-gen-z-so-far/
A lot of people support high taxes till they see what the tax money is used for.
I feel the same. If only they disassociate themselves from these crazy ideas, they would find a huge support about other things, like enforcing law and order, being fiscally conservative, having a small government, meritocracy etc.
Yup. It is now the opportune time to make a course correction. I think Dems will eventually switch towards populism and will implement stupid policies like Federal Job Guarantees.
